Asquith Early Learning Centre

Asquith Early Learning Centre follows the Early Years LearningFramework (EYLF). 

Early childhood is a vital time in which children learn and develop. With this in mind the national framework has been developed to extend and enrich children's learning from birth to five years, then on to school. The framework provides guidance for educators to facilitate learning in order to help develop the following learning outcomes:

• Children have a strong sense of identity​

• Children are connected with and contribute to their world

• Children have a strong sense of wellbeing

• Children are confident and involved learners

• Children are effective communicators.

In order to enhance children's learning at our centre, we provide a program that is centred on the EYLF learning outcomes supported by optional extra programs in music and Chinese language (Mandarin).

National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care (NQF)

​

Our centre follows the NQF. The framework puts in place a national quality standard to ensure high quality and consistent early childhood education and care across Australia. The new national quality standard is divided into seven quality areas that contribute to the quality of early childhood education and care.

These areas have been identified by research and include:

1. Educational program and practice

2. Children's health and safety

3. Physical environment

4. Staffing arrangements (including the number of staff looking after children)

5. Relationships with children

6. Collaborative partnerships with families and communities

7. Leadership and service management.

All services are assesed on their performance across the seven quality areas that make up the new national quality standard and are given an overall rating.
